Nylon Netting

Nylon netting has a vast range of uses that many of us probably take for granted on a daily basis. Nylon netting material is used in such things as baseball backstopping and basketball hoop netting. It is also utilized heavily in commercial fishing and as a fencing material to prevent the spread of litter carried by the wind. Hence, the uses of nylon netting and cargo netting goes beyond the popular uses.

It is used further still in high grade industrial scales by attaching the weigh plate to the scale readout above, and also as an effective way to prevent erosion of soil on sloping or unstable ground. As you can now start to see, it would be hard to imagine a world without nylon netting. However, what makes nylon the preferred material of choice?

Features of Nylon Netting:

  • Nylon netting is a strong synthetic material that is resistant to tearing and fraying. This makes it ideal for heavy duty use where strength over a long period of time is required.
  • It is also adaptable and able to be stretched without compromising strength and stability. Think about the nets that you see wrapped around cargo on planes. It is most likely nylon cargo netting and it is performing a very important job by securing thousands of tons of cargo in a fixed position during flight.
  • Heavy duty nylon netting is also very versatile. The same woven material that can secure cargo in transit can also be woven into a pleasurable, relaxing hammock that is able to be hung between two trees in your backyard. As this is a synthetic material, it is more resistant to outside wear and tear from the sun, rain and animals that might like to chew at the fabric.
  • If nothing else, nylon netting allows the handyman to save money on his do-it-yourself products. For example, if you don’t want to buy a hammock you could weave your own and save money that way!

People have also used nylon to create soccer and hockey goals by simply wrapping it around lengths of PVC piping fashioned into the correct shape. Of course, nylon netting is so prolific in the modern world that there wouldn’t a person alive today that hasn’t come across or relied upon the use of such netting at one point or another.

Aside from the applications above, it is probably best known to children and big kids alike whenever they go to a theme park. At a theme park nylon netting is required to call on all of the strengths that make is such a great performer. It needs to have strength and flexibility for when people climb over adventure cargo netting and it also has to stand up to whatever the weather can throw at it since it will spend 100% of its time outdoors.

Nylon netting is also safe to use because it does not decompose and release chemicals into the environment. It can also be treated and manufactured in a range of different colors, designs and weaving patterns to suit any other application like fish netting.
